Unfortunately, or fortunately, however you look at it, it appears that I will be taking apart every aspect of this buggy and having my way with it. Breaking this into subsections will probably be the most logical way to not only tackle the project but to narrate the progress as it moves along.
I think sometimes, probably most of the time, that the disassembly is the one of the most fun processes in one of these projects. Its almost cathartic to just disassemble things like this since I don’t have to do much mental calculation, it is just the use of tools and easy problem solving in order to pull the pieces apart.
Starting by removing the engine and transmission in order to get down to the bare bones of this beast will be my method of madness. Once the frame is stripped of the engine and trans I will have better access to the fuel system, the wiring, the suspension components, and while performing all of this, gain an understanding of how I need to design the new layout to optimize for functionality, reliability, and the serviceability of every aspect going forward.
